Access issues with our East coast data center.
[Update] As of 7:53 a.m. PST, service has been fully restored to our East coast data center. Post-mortem to follow.
This incident was caused by a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on our East Coast data centre. This impacted performance for Zendesk customers whose accounts are located in that data centre. To resolve the incident, we enabled fallback to an alternative routing service for the time until the attack subsided. Our Operations team are working on a global project to improve the way we detect and respond to DDoS attacks to minimise the impact of such incidents going forward.
